Asheville, NC — Asheville Brewing Company has released Lemon Space Dog American Wheat in 6-packs of 12-ounce cans. This much-loved summer brew also went on draft starting the first day of summer at Asheville Brewing’s three locations. It will be available in bottle shops, grocery stores, and convenience stores–wherever cans of beer are sold–within the next week or so.

This seasonal wheat beer comes on just in time to provide thirst-quenching relief to get you through the hot summer. Newish strain of hops, Lemondrop, add a zesty, citrusy lemon aroma and flavor to this refreshing brew, while the malted wheat offers balance and smoothness.

“Lemon Space Dog’s smooth lemon flavor makes this a welcome and crushable summer brew,” say Pete Langheinrich, Asheville Brewing Company head brewer. “Now that it’s in a can, you can take it on your summer adventures. It’s portable and delicious whether you’re at the beach, in the woods, on the river, or poolside.”

Lemon Space Dog cans will be available throughout July, August and September—or until they are all gone.

Lemon Space Dog follows the release of Perfect Day IPA in the can. While initially, Perfect Day cans were planned as a seasonal offering, our loyal customers have let us know that they want Perfect Day canned year round.

Keep an eye out for the next in our series of seasonal can releases. The others will be announced at a later date, but look for approximately one new beer-in-a-can from Asheville Brewing each season.

Lemon Space Dog will be available throughout Western North Carolina and Charlotte, and in select locations elsewhere in N.C., on draft and in 12-ounce cans.

Lemon Space Dog specs:

  • ABV: 5.3%
  • IBU: 13
  • SRM: 3

About Asheville Brewing Company

Asheville’s third craft brewery opened in 1998 as a mash-up pizza joint, second-run movie theater, and brewpub, all wrapped up in a bright, happy, family-friendly space. The brewpub’s popularity with both locals and visitors enabled a second location, including a 15-barrel brew house, to open in downtown Asheville in 2006. Asheville Brewing installed Western North Carolina’s first in-house canning line in 2011. The Merrimon Avenue mothership’s original 7-barrel system recently joined the Coxe Avenue brewery, consolidating all brewing operations under one roof. The brew crew produced 6,200 barrels of beer in 2015, up from 1,200 barrels in 2011. Asheville Brewing Company’s flagship and one-off brews are distributed in 12-ounce cans, on draft, and in special release 22-ounce bottles throughout Western North Carolina, Charlotte, and in a few other North Carolina cities.
