LOS ANGELES —To kick-off the holiday season, Angel City Brewery transforms a beloved holiday cookie into a boozy treat with Speculoos Cookie Beer on Friday, November 9th at 12:00PM. Whether enjoyed with a cold glass of milk, crumbled onto ice cream, or whipped into a delectable spread, one thing is certain: speculoos cookie-anything is the quintessential holiday treat. This sugar and spice cookie was born in France but quickly gained popularity across Europe before this treat was brought to the states. Luckily for festive beer-drinking Angelenos, the treat’s migration continues to Angel City Brewery and is available on draft and in 22-oz. limited edition bottles.
“Making a beer taste like an iconic seasonal favorite was no easy feat.” said Layton Cutler, Head Brewer at Angel City Brewery. “The brew team and I recreated the sugar and spice speculoos cookie flavor by combining caramel malt, honey malt, biscuit malt and brown sugar, with a secret Angel City Brewery spice blend of nutmeg, ginger, star anise, white pepper, clove and cinnamon. No need to skip dessert, this pours like a liquid one and features the aroma of freshly baked of cookies.”
In celebration of the Speculoos Cookie Beer launch, Angel City Brewery invites Angelenos to a beer tasting and Cookie Decorating Workshop on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., featuring cookies from local bakery Stacy’s Cookie Lounge.
