San Diego, California — Twenty year-old AleSmith Brewing Company is at it again, earning 4 gold medals and the title “2015 Champion Brewery” at the 2015 San Diego County Fair’s 9th Annual San Diego International Beer Festival. The San Diego County Fair, presented by Albertsons/VONS, hosts one of the largest beer festivals in the country, with more than 960 entries from 11 countries and 23 states in the U.S. Judged by their hops-and-barley-loving peers, the competition awards the best of the best.
Judging was held April 23-26, 2015 and gold, silver and bronze awards were bestowed upon 132 brews from around the world at the San Diego International Beer Competition held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in Del Mar, California. Best of Show will be announced at the San Diego County Fair’s 9th Annual San Diego International Beer Festival on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 12:30 p.m.
AleSmith Brewing Co. was awarded four Gold medals in their respective categories, and with points combined, crowned the brewery 2015 Champion. The winning beers and style categories are as follows:
- Barrel-Aged Olde Ale – Wood and Barrel Aged Strong Beer
- Nut Brown Ale – American-Style Brown Ale
- Olde Ale 2015 – British-Style Strong Ale
- Old Numbskull – Barley Wine
