Overview: We’re a microbrewery, taproom and learnin' spot that opened September 2016 in Woodridge, IL.

The idea for Skeleton Key Brewery grew out of a collective desire to create a true community hub for craft beer enthusiasts. As a brewery incubator, we help passionate entrepreneurs take their craft to the next level. As a classroom, we expand minds with beer knowledge. And as a taproom, we serve you awesome beer and tell you all about how it was made and the inspiration behind it.

Here’s what to expect:

When you first walk into Skeleton Key Brewery, you’ll pass through our event/classroom space, which is open seating for all patrons when class is not in session. (for classes, visit skeletonkeybrewery.com/classes)

The taproom is in the brewery proper, separated only by a half-wall so you can enjoy your beer against a backdrop of gleaming stainless steel and bearded dudes. Dude. Bearded dude. The other one is barely able to muster up a goatee.

Bring a board game, order-in food from any of the great spots nearby, or grab a book off the bookshelf to sip on some beer knowledge along with your beer. We’ll announce all food truck visits on our Facebook page so you can plan dinner accordingly.

A taste of what might be on tap: a sage-chrysanthemum Belgian wit (on cherries, seasonally), a vanilla porter, a double dry-hopped DIPA, a golden ale with toasted coconut, a grapefruit-forward APA, a bourbon barrel-aged wee heavy... We also feature beers co-brewed with the winners of our annual Spare Keys homebrew contest and the participants in our incubator program. We host occasional live brew days, where you can witness the beer being made in real time, with live views of the kettle and mash tun interiors via GoPro.

In addition to our regular lineup, we also have one tap dedicated to experimental beers that can only be found at the taproom — and are only available to members of the Skullmuggery Society. Check out the website to see how to join!
