Overview: We brew beer to bring people together and share what lasts. Brewmaster Andrew McNally and business partner Tim Doles have never been afraid to start something new. Common Bond Brewers is Montgomery’s first production brewery which is slated to open in fall 2017. “When I first got started, I could spend hours on a Saturday exploring the chemistry of beer,” McNally said. “With encouragement from friends and family, I let myself imagine creating a brewery where I could work with a team to create high-quality beer Montgomery could be proud to call its own and eventually share across the state and region.” McNally and Doles selected Common Bond as the brewery’s name because of its connotation with common values and relationships forged over a few pints. “As much as I love a technically precise brew, what I enjoy even more is the way good beer gathers people together,” McNally said. “I want the beer to help people connect with each other and their community.” They’ve been testing three flagship beers in small homebrew batches over the past couple of years: a West Coast style IPA, a malty rye amber, a smooth Belgian blond - ideal for those transitioning into craft beer - and other seasonal brews. The brewery will also have packaged beer for sale and eventually be on tap in Montgomery restaurants, bars and available to purchase in stores.

Alabama Brewers Guild to Release 5th Annual Collaboration Beer

Last month, Alabama Brewers Guild members from across the state gathered at Common Bond Brewers in Montgomery to create their annual collaboration beer, “Bitter Constituent,” an American-style India Pale Ale. A one-time, special recipe developed by Guild member sand made with five different hop varietals, Bitter Constituent (ABV 7.5 percent) will be available to the public exclusively at Common Bond Brewers beginning on Saturday, January 12.
