Against the Grain Brewery & Alehouse

Loo-a-vuhl Pale Ale is the latest addition to Against the Grain’s package lineup.

If there was a question about consumer interest in so-called extreme beer, at least in Boston, it was answered with three sold out sessions well in advance of Beer Advocate’s annual Extreme Beer Fest (EBF).

Against the Grain’s award-winning bourbon barrel-aged smoked imperial stout, Bo & Luke is back for its 7th annual release. Bo & Luke is inspired by Kentucky bourbon and employs the essential ingredients in bourbon: barley, rye, and corn with the addition of cherry-wood smoked malt to create an imperial stout with a 13.0% ABV.

Crack one open and let us tell you about this new Super American Premium Lager from one of Louisville’s leading breweries, Against the Grain. A Beer is crisp, dry and refreshing lager with gentle citrus aromatics and at 4.5% ABV, it’s an easy summer sipper.

Against the Grain is excited to announce that as of Dec. 18, 2018, they have shifted from their previous Louisville wholesaler to River City Distributing, Inc. Louisville and the seven surrounding counties that River City services should expect Against the Grain products to be more readily available and easier to access.

Louisville’s first brewer owned brewery, Against the Grain, is set to open a retail store, Against the Grain Bottle & Gift Shop, on November 23, 2018. The store will be located in the same building as Against the Grain Brewery and Smokehouse on 401 East Main Street.

With the passing of Kentucky House Bill 136, consumers are now able to purchase up to 31 gallons of beer directly from Kentucky microbreweries. Which means selling craft beer kegs at the source is officially legal.

Against the Grain Brewery will join four other breweries around the country in honoring the men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. military with the release of “Fallen Comrade” for Memorial Day Weekend.

Last Week, Springdale Beer released “Any IPA” in Collaboration with Against the Grain Brewery out of Louisville, Kentucky. Any IPA is a clear version of a New England IPA. The beer features over four pounds of hops per barrel and was designed to be as light in color as possible.

Grammy-nominated Nappy Roots is expanding beyond music into projects that include craft beer and television production with ’40Akerz & a Brew.’

Overcompensation Double IPA is just the latest notch in our belt of big beers, but one of the very first for Upland.
