Overview
Established in 1985, Sprecher is Milwaukee's Original Craft Brewery. We brew over 20 different beers as well as 14 gourmet sodas, including our world famous Sprecher Root Beer.
Aiming to expand outside of the Midwest, Wisconsin-based craft brewery Sprecher Brewing Co. has acquired the brand portfolio of regional soda maker WIT Beverage Co. (WBC) for an undisclosed sum.
The parent company of Brizzy Seltzer Cocktails has filed a lawsuit against Molson Coors Beverage Company in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, alleging that the second largest U.S. beer manufacturer’s Vizzy Hard Seltzer name “is nearly identical to Brizzy in sight, sound and appearance” and infringes upon its trademark.
A Milwaukee-based investor group has acquired the 35-year-old Sprecher Brewing Company. Sharad Chadha is leading the investor group, which includes former MillerCoors general manager Jim Kanter, who will serve on the brewery’s leadership team.
ith its Labor Day weekend release of the Wisconsin Old Fashioned Press Hard Seltzer, Sprecher Brewing Company just took hard seltzers and the Wisconsin Old Fashioned Press to a new level. Developed by Sprecher Brewmaster Craig Burge, this is far beyond the average hard seltzer.
Just in time for the holiday season, Sprecher Brewery will release XII Dragons, a Kentucky Bourbon barrel aged Belgian Quad. Rather than going straight from the finishing tanks to the bottling line a few barrels of Sprecher Brewery’s award-winning Quad have been resting for almost two years in Kentucky Bourbon barrels while becoming XII Dragons.
Sprecher Brewery will tap its newest beer, Lightship 57, a full-flavored, light-bodied session IPA on November 8th. Zythos, Simcoe and Centennial hops give character to this tasty brew, which is best described as refreshingly hoppy with stone fruit, citrus, pine, and tropical notes.
On April 29th, beginning at 9am, Sprecher Walker’s Point Taproom will host the exclusive release party for Night Demon, an ultra-smooth, complex, and ultimately delicious bourbon barrel aged Belgian Dubbel.
Sprecher Brewery plans to open a taproom in a space two blocks away from the original brewery – 706 S. 5th St., the space previously occupied by Brenner Brewery — which recently became available. Randy Sprecher seized the opportunity to open an off-site taproom, which it is calling “Sprecher Milwaukee.”
Sprecher Brewing Company just added to its growing Belgian-style portfolio with the release of Touch of Blue, a Blueberry Lambic made with whole blueberries. After creating a base ale with Belgian yeast culture and bacteria strains, Sprecher’s brewmaster aged the beer for two years with whole blueberries until it expressed just the right amount of intense floral and dark fruit aromas resulting in a well-balanced, flavorful lambic with a compelling sour finish.
With the introduction of the Belgian Progression Pack, Sprecher Brewery presents a set of four Belgian ales all of which you can drink now, three of which can be aged to yield further delectable changes in their flavor profiles. The Belgian Progression Pack consists of four classic Belgian-style ales that range from an easy drinking low alcohol session ale (the Enkel) to a snifter worthy night cap (the Quad).
