Beer lovers rejoice! One of San Antonio’s largest breweries has collaborated with the San Antonio Beer Festival to brew a special beer for the 2017 event. Ranger Creek’s Pina CoLager is a unique, German-style lager brewed with the addition of pineapple and coconut. Only one batch of this refreshing, delicious beer was made. It’s an extremely limited release that will be available at the 2017 San Antonio Beer Festival on Saturday, October 21st.
Two San Antonio breweries have joined forces to release three special beers in celebration of San Antonio’s 300th anniversary. Ranger Creek Brewing & Distilling and Freetail Brewing Company, two breweries that have been leaders in San Antonio’s craft beer movement, will each release a beer this year leading up to the 2018 Tricentennial celebration. They will then come together to brew a special collaboration beer to be released during the Tricentennial.
After a year long hiatus, La Bestia has made it back into Ranger Creek’s beer lineup and onto retail shelves. The former year-round beer has been resurrected as a seasonal that will be available through April. The beer was a fan favorite that was put into hibernation due to lackluster sales and has been brought back due to popular demand.
Self-distribution allows small breweries to build their business at their own pace and maintain direct relationships with the accounts that sell their beer. Ranger Creek has taken full advantage of this Texas beer law, which has allowed them to sell their beer through 115 accounts in the San Antonio area. However, thirsty consumers have created more demand than the brewery’s self-distribution can handle. As a result, the local craft brewery has chosen to work with a distribution partner in their home market.
Sour beers are a delicious and highly sought after style in the craft beer community. San Antonio’s Ranger Creek Brewing & Distilling has just released a new sour beer as part of their Small Batch Series, and it won’t last long. Limited quantities of Small Batch Series No. 11, their apricot sour, hit retail shelves on Friday, September 25. Given the success of the brewery’s previous sour beers, the bottles will be sold out in the next 2-3 weeks.
