- For 30 years we've been chasing after aftertastes; playing with world famous whisky casks and exploring the many possibilities of our craft. Here's to fun! The brewery was founded in 1983 by Ken Brooker in his garage at the foot of the Ochil Hills. In 1986, he expanded into a local steading where the brewery remained for the next 18 years. In 2004 we moved to our current location; a 60-barrel plant in Alva. We were bought by Caledonian Brewery in 2006. However, in the wake of the acquisition of Caledonian brewing Company by Scottish & Newcastle UK, the brewery became independent once again in 2008 by three noble shareholders who sought to preserve the status as an independent award-winning micro-brewery.
