Overview
Drake's Brewing Co. is an independent craft brewery located in San Leandro, Calif., that has been dedicated to bringing people together over great beer since 1989. Quietly situated in its gritty warehouse environs, Drake’s has become known over the years for consistently producing a wide variety of hop-forward craft beers. From the groundbreaking 1500 Pale Ale to innovative creations like the Denogginizer Double IPA, and a growing collection of artisan barrel-aged and sour beers, the brewery’s commitment to quality and integrity shines through in every beer. As one of the original craft breweries in the Bay Area, Drake's is dedicated to supporting its community first and working tirelessly to bring its brand of quality beer to more people.
After months of test batches and experimental releases, Drake’s Brewing Co. is excited to announce the special release of Brightside Extra Brut IPA in six-packs. Drake’s has played a pioneering role in the development of the new Brut IPA style since it emerged at the beginning of 2018 in San Francisco.
Summer at the beach. Grilling poolside with friends and family. A relaxing end to a long hike. Now enjoy all these moments with Kick Back IPA, exclusively in 12 oz. cans, or on draft, year-round from Drake’s Brewing Co. This marks the brewery’s first beer packaged in cans, just in time for the warmer spring and summer months ahead.
Available now through the end of February 2018, Drake’s Brewing Co. is offering a different take on an IPA for your winter enjoyment with the release of its seasonal brew, Dark Wing.
After its 2016 debut, War Pigeon is back again by popular demand as a limited release double IPA, available now through the end of November. War Pigeon is dry and bright and brewed with a variety of ultra-fresh hops from Styrian Cardinal, Mosaic, Chinook, and Pekko. At 8% ABV, it’s an aromatic blast of sweet pineapple and citrus zest, with hints of floral aromatics.
This week Drake’s Brewing Co. is releasing its refreshed and ramped-up Aroma Coma recipe. Drake’s has upped the ante and created a bigger, hoppier, and more punched up version of the perennial favorite IPA. The brewery has added more Citra hops and more of the sticky rye malt and light caramel flavors that provide the backbone for the over-the-top dank hoppiness. The ABV has also been bumped up to 8.0% to give the beer amazing balance. Aroma Coma 2XIPA delivers an aromatic punch of citrus hops that lives up to its name.
After a huge kick off in 2016, Drake’s Brewing Co. is again releasing Kick Back, a golden, hoppy Session IPA. A portion of the proceeds will support East Bay Regional Parks through Drake’s community fundraising program. Last year, Drake’s exceeded its goal and raised over $10,000 to support trail cleanup and restoration at the East Bay parks and the brewery has its sights set on beating that goal in 2017.
This weekend, Drake’s Brewing Co. released its 2016 Jolly Rodger Ale. For more than two decades, Drake’s has stuck to a tradition of brewing a totally new beer every year for Jolly Rodger. Brewmaster John Gillooly describes this year’s version as a Transatlantic Winter Warmer.
In an effort to keep up with rapidly growing demand over the past few years, and to stay at the forefront of innovation, the Drake’s Brewing has tripled its production space including a new brewhouse, fermentation cellar and packaging warehouse. Not only will Drake’s be able to increase production of the brewery’s pioneering hoppy beers, but use the additional capacity to focus on growing its specialty, limited and barrel-aged brews.
