Boulder, Colorado-- Suerte Tequila’s canned cocktails recently received the top tasting awards in the business.
Suerte is Spanish for luck and Suerte Tequila is named to honor the great fortune its founders had in discovering this 100% pure blue weber agave tequila. As they continue to expand their portfolio, their flagship spirit continues to accumulate accolades – and luck is only a part of its success. The other part is Suerte’s commitment to making some of the best tequila on the market. Period.
The ready-to-drink (RTD) space continues to grow, and the crowded market makes it difficult for small brands to shine. But, luckily for Suerte, premium ingredients and quality taste reigned at this year’s award shows.
Suerte entered the RTD ring last year, aiming to give Suerte fans more ways to enjoy their Blanco. Its 100% agave tequila cocktails in three flavors — Margarita, Paloma and Ranch Water — mirror exactly how someone would make a cocktail at home, but now in a convenient to-go format. Open a can, pour over ice, and you’re in Mexico. The judges agreed.

Innovation is key to growth. But staying true to the values of a brand’s origins is key to long-term success. Born in the hills of Jalisco, Mexico, and raised in the foothills of Boulder, Colorado, The Suerte team believes, “You can make tequila fast, or you can make it right.” That’s why their process takes up to four times longer than the industry average, is among the 1% of brands using the traditional way of crushing agave with the Tahona two-tone stone and is committed (along with only 2% of other brands) to a dedicated distillery, ensuring the utmost quality for its products, process, and people.
It’s rare these days to find a canned tequila cocktail from an actual tequila brand, let alone one that’s Tahona-crushed in a dedicated distillery. Tequila is all Suerte knows. It’s what they love. And it’s proving to be the perfect recipe for success.
Here’s to the Rabbits. Centuries ago, legend has it, a farmer’s wife saw lots of rabbits (400 it is said). They were bouncing happily through her fields lapping up the juices from the fermented agave plants. She went out and collected some of the nectar in jars, brought it into the hacienda and, for the first time, everyone did tequila shots. Ultimately she was crowned Mayahuel, the Aztec Goddess of Tequila. And the rabbits, well, to Suerte, they’re heroes.
