Ketchum, ID — Sawtooth Brewery is bringing back Oktoberfest! The event will be held on September 20 at Ketchum Town Square from Noon-10pm. Oktoberfest dates back to 1810 and begins in Germany on September 20 as well. The event traditionally features large beers, a festival atmosphere, live music, and German foods! The Ketchum event will bring that style of party to Ketchum with a touch of Idaho flair.
The event is sponsored by the City of Ketchum and is free and open to the public! However, you must buy a beer stein in order to drink! Two sizes of steins will be available, 1 Pint and 1 Liter. The 1 Liter steins will also be good at Oktoberfest every year, just bring it back next year!
The beer menu will include German Lagers from Sawtooth Brewery, featuring their traditional Oktoberfest beer. Other beers in tap at the two bars include: Phantom Hill Schwarzbier, Germania Munich Helles, Senate Creek Vienna Lager, Smoky the Lager, Sheepherder Saison, Pumpkin Spiced Cream Ale, and Sun Valley Harvest Festival Bock. Buck Snort Root Beer will be on tap, and cider and wine will also be available.
The food will be provided by Gourmet Mountain Dogs from Driggs, Idaho. The menu includes Jalape├▒o Cheddar Elk Brats, Smoked Buffalo Brats, All-Natural Beef Franks, and Nathans Hot Dogs all served on 460 Breads with a full list of toppings. Salads and Potato Hash will also be available. For the adventurous, you can tray the grand traverse: four brats on a fresh baked baguette with your choice of toppings! Soft pretzels and German Chocolate Cake will also be available!
Live music will start at noon and go until 10pm. The line-up freatures Army of Pines, HIllfolk Noir, the Barking Owls, and Mark Mueller.
Oktoberfest will also have plenty of games to enjoy while drinking! We will have cornhole, beer pong, flip cup, giant Jenga, and hammerschlagen- a traditional Oktoberfest beer that combines, drinking beer and trying to hit a nail with a hammer in one swing.
