OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Fish Tale Brew Pub, an Olympia area gem, will be featured on the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.” Guy Fieri knows great food when he sees it and the staff of the Fish Tale Brew Pub know how to deliver. Locally-sourced foods which highlight the Pacific Northwest are what the Fish Tale Brewpub is all about; watch Guy Fieri roll into Washington’s capitol for Fish Tale’s Bangers and Mash. This brewpub favorite features two hand-cast English-style sausages, sautéed carrots and garlic-mashed potatoes.
Food Network host, Guy Fieri, brought the “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” crew to this Olympia area favorite for filming in October, selected from a field of over fifty other hot spots in the south Puget Sound, to get down and dirty with this modern version of the English classic. Guy had his work cut out for him deciding which of the popular menu items to choose. While filming, it was apparent to those on set that Fieri would have also liked to try some of the other menu items as well since “he was also sneaking bites of the Fish Tacos and the nachos” confessed Fish Tale Brew Pub Head Chef, Kerin Lewis.
Also featured on the show will be the Brew Pub’s Crab Cannelloni—a mixture of Dungeness crab, shrimp and ricotta in an eggroll wrapper and baked in a roasted red pepper cream sauce and served with side Caesar salad.
“This is such an incredible honor for our entire Fish Tale Brew pub family after over a decade of commitment and hard work. Words cannot describe how thrilled we are to have our story broadcasted to the rest of the country,” Max DeJarnatt, who manages the brewpub, said. “We can barely contain our excitement because we want to share this achievement with the community that has supported us over the years!”
“When the red Camaro pulled up in front of the restaurant at our downtown location in Olympia, it was fun to watch people as they began to realize what was going on,” DeJarnatt recounts the scene on the street. “Everyone had a great time and Guy Fieri was really good about letting the staff and the regulars get their Triple D fill.” After all the hoopla died down and Fieri left the brew pub, DeJarnatt reflected on the experience and said, “Now we know that people really love our food and we’ve accomplished something.
Recently, Fish Tale Brew Pub opened a second location two hours north of Olympia in Everett directly across from the Comcast Arena. Featuring the hand-crafted beers and ciders of its parent brewery, Fish Brewing Company the brewpub’s fare, decor and namesake are inspired by its flagship brewpub in Olympia, Washington.
The show is currently scheduled to air at 10PM ET/PT on February 11, 2013 on the Food Network.
About Fish Brewing Company
From its home in beautiful Olympia, Washington, Fish Brewing Company has been hand-crafting ales of Northwest proportions since 1993. Humbly beginning with a 15-barrel brew house, two 15-barrel fermenters, and one dairy tank, we brewed for our neighbors up and down Puget Sound. Growing steadily since, Fish is now an award-winning craft brewer with distribution throughout the great Pacific Northwest and beyond.
