Williamsburg, VA — Alewerks Brewing Company proudly announces its newest venture, a satellite tasting room in the Williamsburg Premium Outlets. An open-concept retail store and micro-brewing facility at the new location will offer outlet visitors a completely new experience. Shoppers may sample the many beers Alewerks has to offer, as well as learn more about the eleven-year-old brewery’s history and brewing process. The 3,000-square-foot space will feature ten Alewerks beers on tap and more in bottles, high-top seating, expanded retail merchandise, and a three barrel system for on-site brewing.
Alewerks Managing Director and longtime Brewmaster Geoff Logan commented, “Alewerks is proud to grow and keep that growth within the greater Williamsburg community. This expansion allows us to reach an audience that might not gravitate towards Alewerks or craft beer. And for those who do know and love craft beer, this location will be a great place to learn, grab a beer, and decide which six-pack you want to bring home after a long day of shopping. We’ve considered opening a second location for some time, and it’s exciting to bring more local flavor to the outlets.”
“The system is a long-awaited playground for us as brewers,” adds Logan. “It’s an opportunity to be creative, making smaller batches than previously possible. We’re going to focus on small batch limited releases, collaborations, and even some event-specific brews.” The site will also offer non-alcoholic beverages and pre-packaged snacks. The new location is scheduled to open later this Summer.
Alewerks Brewing Company opened in the Ewell Industrial Park in 2006, not far from the Williamsburg Premium Outlets. Their current Taproom at the main brewing facility will continue to be the sole location for new releases, community events, and entertainment. Alewerks has received numerous awards including a recent gold medal in the 2017 Virginia Craft Brewers Cup in the European Pale Lager category for Weekend Lager.
