Overview: Set in the gorgeous Chama River Canyon near Abiquiu, NM, Abbey Brewing Company started in 2005 with the Benedictine monks at the Monastery of Christ in the Desert. The monks have a small hop yard and we use their crop in our reserve styles. Our beer styles are mostly of the European monastic tradition, which is over 1400 years old.

Currently, only our Ale, Dark, Dubbel, Tripel, and Wit styles are available in retail stores and restaurants. The Dubbel and Tripel are also brewed as Reserve beers using hops from the Monastery, which may be found in retail stores in season (about December to March, depending on hop availability). Our other styles include Monks' Golden Ale (a kristalweiss beer), Monks' American Kolsch, and Monks' Pale Ale Reserve.
