Ninkasi Brewing has announced plans to expand its Canadian presence next week by launching new distribution throughout the western province of Alberta.
Beginning Wednesday, per an agreement with Canadian wholesaler Copper & Theory Artisan Beer Supply Co., Ninkasi products — including Total Domination IPA, Believer Double Red, and Oatis Oatmeal Stout — will be made available in the province on draft and in bottles.
The wholesale arrangement isn’t exactly brand new for either company, as Ninkasi, out of Eugene, Ore., partnered with Copper and Theory for coverage throughout Vancouver, British Columbia in February of last year.
“Alberta is a fast growing market for craft beer and it is just about to realize its potential,” said Adam Henderson, founder of Copper & Theory, in a news release. “Albertans have an incredible enthusiasm for beer right now, so we’re very excited to expand our partnership with Ninkasi and bring its great beer into the province.”
Added Ninkasi co-owner and CEO, Nikos Ridge, “We know it will be inspiring and a lot of fun to introduce our lineup of craft beers to Alberta.”
Ninkasi, which has been operational in its second facility for about seven months now, is forecasting production of 115,000 barrels this year, up from 86,507 in 2013.
