NOVATO, Calif. — Rolling off the canning line today at Moylan’s Brewing Company in Novato, CA is the fourth beer in its rotating IPA seasonal series. ManGo Crazy IPA takes its place alongside Haze Craze IPA, Northern California IPA, and Wet Hop American Summer Hazy IPA.
ManGo Crazy is a tropical IPA with lush aromas of mango, papaya, passionfruit, and a light malt body that helps to accentuate the hop flavors.
Today also marks the first time Moylan’s has made the ManGo Crazy IPA outside the summer months.
Moylan’s ManGo Crazy began as a one-off for the Boonville Beerfest, but as word spread about the beer, the requests from festivalgoers came pouring in. “What started out as a ½ barrel was quickly scaled up. It was an extremely popular beer at the fest so we settled on a 10 barrel batch and decided on a session IPA base beer,” said Derek Smith, Moylan’s Brewmaster. “We made the first batch for the pub and our customers and staff couldn’t get enough of it.”
While most of this first run is destined for bottle shops throughout Northern California and Pennsylvania, 16-ounce cans and kegs will be available at Moylan’s starting today.
As for what’s next, Smith hints there might be a Brut IPA in Moylan’s future.
