AUSTIN, Texas — Hi Sign Brewing announces an updated company logo and their first can release with Shamus the Fiddler Irish Red Ale and Christie the American Blonde Ale.
Designed by FairFolk out of Boston, and well known for their cans for Trillium Brewing, the new Hi Sign logo is a fresh take on an old sign.
“The new logo is an awesome nod to the original inspiration which is an old barrel top nailed to a post on Hi Sign Road in Lincoln, Montana. I think this direction completely embodies the spirit of our beers and our culture while staying true to the roots of this company,” said Mark Phillippe, Hi Sign’s Founder. “When I first virtually-met with FairFolk almost a year ago, we talked about staying true to the original sign on Hi Sign Road, where my family spends a lot of time drinking beer together. I think they did that perfectly.”
Shamus the Fiddler Irish Red is a wonderfully crafted beer with nice malted notes and a clean finish. The naming conventions and design provided a great avenue into having fun with characters and visual art on the cans. Christie the American Blonde is a smooth blonde ale with a hint of rye malt.
FairFolk developed another fun, sassy character to give life to the beer and the can.
“We’ve worked tremendously hard on these beers, and we’re excited to introduce Shamus and Christie to Austin and beer lovers everywhere,” said Andrew Shelton, Head Brewer. “The cans will be packaged into clean 6 pack boxes with an overall design tying the brand together in a super clean, fresh approach to their look. These characters come to life on the can and on the box, and it’s a great way to introduce a new element to an old industry.”
Hi Sign Brewing will release cans locally into all Whole Foods Market locations and select c-store chains throughout Austin.
About Hi Sign Brewing
It began in 2010. Surrounded by friends, enjoying growlers of beer on Hi Sign Road in the mountains of Montana is what formed the foundation we believe drinking better beer is all about. In 2013, following an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, Founder Mark Phillippe returned home to Texas and began brewing. In 2016 he met Head Brewer and fellow Texan Andrew Shelton (formerly of Revolver Brewing and Brew Hub). Hi Sign Brewing opened its doors in the Spring of 2017. Located at 1201 Old Bastrop Hwy, Austin, Texas, Hi Sign Brewing is an independent, Veteran owned craft brewery.
