Who You Are:
As a Regional Taproom Manager (RTM) for Topa Topa Brewing, you will oversee the efficient operation of the Ventura (Thompson), Ojai, and Santa Barbara taprooms, ensuring top-notch customer service and smooth daily functions. You will split your time between these locations and you will be required to be on site regularly. You will manage administrative tasks, supervise staff, and coordinate events to enhance the taproom experience. Your role involves handling employee management, maintaining taproom cleanliness, and ensuring effective event execution. Has a keen focus on driving revenue with a cost effective approach. This position reports to the Director of Planning and Operations.
What You’ll Do:
- Administrative Duties
- Weekly/Biweekly
- Submit Ramp expense report monthly
- Complete weekly marketing requirements
- Send weekly happening emails to staff and the Director of Planning and Operations.
- Check-ins with Taproom Shift Supervisors
- Audit staffing
- Send Weekly Sales Report/Budget Analysis
- Respond to emails and Slack
- Oversee Supervisors and Beertenders
- Utilize BEOs to determine staffing/set–up/breakdown needs
- Track event feedback
- Check staff hours and tips
- Complete weekly Sales Analysis and labor hours
- Prep and complete weekly bank drop and mail for the Director of Finance
- Request entertainment payments from finance department
- Monthly
- Submit taproom staff schedules 3 weeks out
- Complete Google Calendar 3 weeks out
- Collaborate on monthly financial reporting and budgets for taprooms and review operating expenses with the Finance Director
- Keep regular communication with shared-space partners

- Employee Management:
- Oversee Supervisors
- Provide support, guidance, and insight within the leadership team
- Ensure job duties are completed to a satisfactory level
- Oversee Beertenders- delegate tasks as needed and hold the team accountable for completing tasks appropriately
- Always uphold the highest customer service standards, lead by example, and set your team up for success
- Continuously monitor employee performance and follow protocol for corrective actions if necessary
- Complete 30-day evaluations for all new hires
- Complete annual employee reviews w/ Beertenders
- Complete annual employee reviews w/ Taproom Shift Supervisors
- Conduct second-round interviews with HR when new staff is needed
- Event Management:
- Book music/entertainment for the taproom
- Act as the main point of contact for all partners and vendors
- Maintain close communication with the event coordinator- mandatory biweekly meetings
- Manage BEOs for all private events
- Uses BEOs to pre-determine set up/break down needs and delegates accordingly
- Uses BEOs to determine staffing needs
- 1st point of contact for all events if the staff has questions, needs direction, etc.
- Responsible for informing staff of event logistics- via email and calendar
- Responsible for assigning event work via 7shifts
- Train staff on event service and create ways to troubleshoot
- Create community events and 1% FTP coordination
- Track Event Feedback
- Maintain a recap log with successes, improvement opportunities, expenses, turnout, etc.
- Follow up with event customers
- Be available to be present for larger events when possible
- Taproom Management:
- Maintain taproom cleanliness by delegating tasks to staff
- Submit all repairs via the Maintenance Workflow
- Make any taproom improvement requests to the Engineering Team and Director of Planning and Operations for review
- Lead by example in preventative maintenance
- Handle Taproom Emergency Situations:
- i.e., troubleshoot when Wi-Fi goes down, if there’s a plumbing issue, fix the rinsers, and troubleshoot the draft system and POS.
- Ensure Supervisors are cross-trained in troubleshooting.
- Be available in ‘off-hours’ to field any emergencies
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum 5+ years experience in restaurant/bar management
- A passion for craft beer is a huge plus! But candidate must have a comfortability with styles and baseline knowledge of brewing practices
- Basic knowledge of draft systems and bar/taproom equipment
- After a conditional offer of employment is offered, must be willing to submit to a standard background check
Schedule:
- This role is 100% on-site, with time split between three locations
- Must be available to work weekdays and weekends. Hours will vary but this will typically be a 5 day work week w/ some flexibility on days off
Pay/Benefits:
$70,000 - $80,000 (annually) based on experience
