Full job description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Packaging Lead to join our growing team. The Packaging Lead will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day packaging operations, ensuring that all products are packaged efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in packaging, team leadership, and a strong commitment to quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Packaging Operations: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the packaging team to ensure timely and accurate packaging of products according to specifications.
- Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and develop packaging associates to ensure high performance and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Quality Control: Monitor packaging quality, inspecting finished products for defects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining high-quality packaging standards.
- Inventory Management: Work closely with warehouse teams to ensure packaging materials are available and manage stock levels to prevent delays or shortages.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to increase packaging efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure the packaging area is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with production, quality assurance, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations and timely product deliveries.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of packaging operations, report on team performance, product output, and any issues that arise during the packaging process.
- Troubleshooting: Address and resolve any technical issues related to packaging machinery or materials in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in a packaging or production environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of packaging machinery, materials, and processes.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to packaging equipment or processes.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to [weight limit] pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in a warehouse or production environment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in manufacturing, operations, or related field is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with [specific packaging machinery or equipment].
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Experience with regulatory compliance (e.g., FDA, OSHA).
