Moonlight Brewing Company has been brewing top quality beer in Santa Rosa, CA since 1992. We are looking for a dedicated and energetic person who wants to be part of our small production team whose collective goal is to make amazing beer. We are currently looking for someone to join our production team full time. This person must be able to multitask while maintaining integrity of all tasks at hand and manage time efficiently; as well as be self-motivated and able to organize and manage their time based on our changing goals and the brewhouse master calendar. We hope to hire someone who can play well with others but is also ok working alone for long periods of time. 


Our production team works on a 4x days week x 10 hour day schedule. 

The schedule for this position is consistent and consecutive days of the week.


 *Duties and requirements may include but are not limited to the following*

Primary Duties:

  • Can line operation (Codi CCl-45) including set up/breakdown, QA/QC, pack out.
  • Management of packaging materials and inventory IE labels, keg collars, pak techs etc
  • Working with the cellar lead and management to effectively schedule and meet our goals/deadlines.
  • Maintenance, cleaning and upkeep of the can line, depalletizer, date coder and other canning equipment.  
  • Cleaning and upkeep of the packaging space
  • Filling kegs 
  • CIPS of the can line/kegging line hoses and other materials.

Secondary Duties:  Being that we have a small production crew all team members also take part in….

  • CIPs of bright beer and fermentation tanks, hoses, and other equipment
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace with an attention to detail
  • Transfer of beer from fermentors to aging tanks
  • Filtering/ Fining/ Dry Hopping
  • Yeast and Fermentation management
  • Carbonation and testing of beer using common brewery analytical tools
  • Use of laboratory equipment to collect standard beer analytics (Cell counts, gravity, ph etc.) 
  • Keep organized and detailed notes of cellar/lab/packaging activities
  • Ability to learn and use our brewery software “Ekos” to record tasks and inventory
  • Operate a forklift (certified preferred) and use a pallet jack



Requirements:

  • A commitment to high standards of excellence and quality assurance 
  • Ability to problem solve in an often fast paced environment
  • Mechanical inclination 
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal SOPs 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to maintain sanitary practices in all aspects of beer production
  • Understand and comply with safety requirements and procedures
  • Understand and complete basic and beer mathematical equations
  • Willing to work overtime as needed


Physical requirements:

  • Ability to be standing and moving for the entire shift
  • Ability to lift/ maneuver 160 lb. kegs
  • Ability to kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, climb/work on ladders and work close to the floor
  • Ability to work in wet, cold, hot, loud and sometimes hazardous environments
  • Ability to work safely and effectively with hazardous chemicals

Compensation:

  • $26-$28 hourly (compensation dependent on skills and experience.) 
  • Full health insurance and benefits included after 90 days
  • Accrual based PTO 
  • 4 Annual floating holidays 
  • Beer allowance of course

       

      *Previous commercial brewery experience is required.

*Knowledge of basic biology or chemistry is a plus.
