JOB SUMMARY:

The “Key Account Manager – Northeast” is responsible for managing key accounts in Northeast United States (Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virgina, Washington DC, & West Virginia) + the eastern Canadian Provinces (Ontario, Quebec, and eastern Provinces). This position represents the outside sales arm of the organization and is critical to building the Crosby Hops brand with customers. This is an advanced sales position which requires extensive technical knowledge of hops and the beer brewing process as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Given the nature of the role, 50% travel will be required to meet and exceed company goals. The Key Account Manager will report to and consult with the National Sales Manager regularly to track sales targets and goals as well as monitor current market trends, competitor positioning, opportunities, threats, etc.

Crosby Hops is a family-owned hop grower, processor, and merchant based in Woodburn, Oregon. We work symbiotically with our own fifth-generation farm growing 750 acres of hops and a group of select grower partners to consistently source world-class hops to process into high quality hop products and deliver best-in-class customer experience. Our modern and sophisticated pelleting facility produces T90 and CGX hop pellets that offer exceptional capabilities and flavor for craft brewers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 50% of time traveling for sales calls or meetings in assigned territory by visiting brewhouse facilities, brewpubs, and tasting rooms; attending trade shows, industry events, and conferences; & supporting harvest activities at the farm evert September.
  • 50% of time working remotely from home office managing existing business and engaging in new client acquisition through prospecting, including cold calls via phone or email.
  • Acquire, develop, and retain customer accounts in assigned territory.
  • Create, strengthen, and maintain relationships with prospects, customers, suppliers, and industry influencers.
  • Manage CRM (HubSpot) with high level of detail and professionalism to maximize efficiencies and information retrieval.
  • Build and maintain a strategic plan for assigned territory aligned to company sales goals.
  • Work closely with National Sales Manager for regularly scheduled accountability and coaching sessions to stay on track with sales goals relating to sales performance.
  • Collaborate with various Crosby Hops departments (Customer Success, Marketing, Finance/AR, Quality, etc.) to provide a seamless customer experience.
  • Professionally represent the Crosby Hops brand while emphasizing innovation, quality, service, history, and integrity.
  • Collaborate and share best practices with Crosby Hops peers.
  • Contribute to Crosby Hops culture of continuous improvement and innovation by suggesting improvements to process, facilities, customer experience, etc.
  • Frequently work remotely and outside of normal working hours to accomplish sales goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated passion for the craft beer industry
  • Experience in the craft beer market preferred
  • Up to 50% travel within region and broader US for company and team events
  • Must maintain permanent residence within the territory
  • 4-5+ years previous experience in an outside sales or a business development role
  • Track record of exceeding sales quotas
  • Previous experience working with an incentive-based compensation plan
  • Must reside near a major airport.

This position offers a base salary plus a yearly bonus structure incentivized goal plan. Benefit packages include medical, dental, vision, retirement, and PTO.
