About the role:

You will perform daily laboratory and quality tasks at a large regional craft brewery. Quality technicians at pFriem play a critical role in the production of excellent beer. The position requires a willingness to train on a diverse set of skills throughout the brewery production process.


Critical responsibilities:

  • Measure various analytes via spectrophotometry.
  • Basic microbiological sampling and analysis.
  • Collect samples from canning and kegging lines. Measure package gasses and physical characteristics using a variety of instruments.
  • Communicate results clearly and quickly to production teams to inform operations.
  • Data collection and entry throughout a shift.
  • Adhere to SOPs, checklists, and troubleshooting guides and contribute to edits and process improvements.
  • Willingness to learn and train on new equipment and processes as they are onboarded.
  • Cleaning and general laboratory upkeep.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment and adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Work a fixed shift schedule: 4x10h, 7am-5pm; either Tuesday-Friday or Wednesday-Saturday.
  • Be on time for all shifts, ready to work, with a clear head.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time. s
  • Be able to lift up to 50lbs safely and without risk of injury to self, others, or company property.

Desired qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in quality at a food manufacturing facility in an either an at-line or laboratory-based setting.
  • An associate’s degree or higher in a relevant field: chemistry, biology, math, or engineering. Further relevant coursework will be considered in lieu of work experience.
  • Ability to work independently and critically think.
  • Proficiency with MS office, Google suite, and basic computer skills.
  • Comprehend and remember standard operating procedures.
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Licensed to drive and access to reliable transportation.
  • References are a must.
