Head Brewer

We are hiring a Head Brewer to lead our brewhouse team and take the helm on our 30 BBL production and 5 BBL pilot brewhouses. The position will manage a staff of five over first and second shift, with a maximum of three turns a day (no overnights) as well as all pilot brewhouse operations to supply the taproom.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Managing brewing ops on two systems (30bbl production system and a 5bbl pilot system) for both our in-house Dorchester brand and our 15 brewing partners
• Occasional shift brewing required as well as regular pilot brewing
• Hiring, managing, and training brewhouse staff
• Recipe development and improvement
• Procurement of ingredients and inventory management
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• 4+ years’ relevant experience
• Formal brewing education preferred
• Working familiarity with spreadsheet software to manage recipe development and production planning
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• A passion for continuous innovation 
• Good attitude, kindness, and a desire to work in fun environment 

COMPENSATION

• Salary is commensurate with experience
• 50%+ contribution by Dorchester Brewing to health insurance
• 15 days of PTO per year plus sick time
• 9 paid holidays
• 401K with 4% match
• Annual education credit
• Annual boot credit
