A Better Choice Distribution (ABC Distro) Craft Beverage Representatives are responsible for representing & managing ABC Distribution’s wholesale market presence, brand awareness, product representation and sales at on and off-premise retail accounts, with distributor partners, and at festivals and events throughout your assigned distribution territory while working under the supervision of the Sales Manager. Representative helps our portfolio of Craft Beverages by supporting existing & creating new customer relationships while increasing overall brand awareness in their territory and helping to grow volume of our brands:


Representatives are energetic and team-oriented member of the ABC Distro team with passion for craft beer and the ability to build strong relationships.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)


• Craft Beverage first!! Passionate about Craft Beverage and become knowledgeable about the History of the Craft Brands we have partnered with along with their packaging.


• Support and promote ABC Distro’s mission and company culture, which is to bring awareness to the consumer of some of the best craft brands in the world to the Southern California market.


• Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative in meeting sales and revenue goals. Effectively plan and prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to maximize productivity. Meet deadlines for sales targets, reports, and other responsibilities. Operate effectively within corporate and budgetary guidelines. Performs administrative tasks as required including expense reports, work calendars, sales goals, etc.


Retail Market Management:


• Drive sales volume and distribution in the assigned territory by identifying new opportunities, active selling, and motivating retail sales teams to prioritize the brands in our portfolio. Achieve planned sales and distribution goals. Increase overall sales & consumption, brand presence & awareness in assigned territory. Promote ABC Distro Co. portfolio, promote new products, and enhance potential sales of existing products. Conduct formal training and ride-with's with supplier sales representatives in assigned markets.


• Develop and maintain relationships with management, retail sales staff, and bartenders in key accounts. Present and promote the diverse portfolio of beer products to all customers, emphasizing the unique selling points and benefits. Regularly visit clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and identify opportunities for collaboration. Setup and conduct staff training for key accounts. Host’s occasional on premise demonstrations/presentations.


• Execute sell-through and merchandising initiatives for retail accounts to increase consumer trial and engagement. Plan and execute on and off premise promotions as required.


• Work in collaboration with your assigned team to achieve team sales targets & goals, introduce new marketing initiatives and implement promotions.

• Use Eostar/VIP data to identify opportunities or gain other business insights.

Maintain a consistent visitation schedule within the market, hitting target account list including chain and independent on and off premise accounts. Track and monitor success of our products in all identified accounts within assigned territory.


• Monitor beer inventory to maintain proper levels based on sales trends, promotions, new product introductions and our core & seasonal offerings as well as maintain our standard for quality products. Monitors product freshness based on date codes at both distributor warehouses and key retail accounts.


Business Partner Management:


• Ensure all state and federal laws pertaining to the sale, merchandising and promotion of malt beverages are maintained.


• Develop, manage, and execute marketing and brand awareness programs to support placements, including promotions, food pairings, tastings, merchandising, POS, and special events.


• Monitor retailer inventory and depletion including acquiring Distro reports from each distributor every 30 days at the end of each month and delivering to sales manager.


Skills, Physical & Mental Requirements:


• Must have ability and willingness to maintain flexible work schedules, as weekend and extended workdays are necessary.


• Travel may be required, including overnight stays


• 95% of time spent actively selling to deliver distribution goals, rate of sale goals, volume goals, period priorities and distributor work-with's, 5% administrative.


• Passionate fan of craft beer and knowledge about craft beer styles and current trends.


• Strong customer service skills and supportive, collaborative attitudes.


• Positive attitude and ‘can do, get it done’ mentality on driving business.


• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk, talk, listen, communicate, use of hands to grasp, handle or feel, push, pull, reach, crouch, kneel, crawl or bend, and perform repetitive motions of the hands and/or wrists.


• Ability to exert up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.


• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds, and be able to move kegs which weigh close to 165 pounds.


• Moderate mental and visual attention required for performing manual work, machine operations, set-ups, inspections, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detect and adjust for variance from proper operation.


• The representative is subject to inside and/or outside environmental conditions. Working tasting events or festivals will at times require employee to work outside in windy, hot, cold or wet conditions to some extent. At times employee will need to work in refrigerated areas such as beer caves and merchandising units. Employee will need to work around crowds and be able to deal with challenging situations involving people and their behaviors in a responsible, yet friendly manner.



Education/ Experience:


• 3-4 years’ experience in sales and customer service.


• Prior Sales Experience – retail, distributor route, or business development


• Live In Territory applying for


• Experience in retail on and off premise segment


• Must have valid Driver's License and clean driving record.


• Cicerone, or other Beer certification strongly preferred


• Computer skills: Microsoft Office to include Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, CRM, Google Drive, Google Sheets/Excel, Eostar/VIP, Encompass


• Position requires the regular use of a computer, iPad, printer, copier, cell phone, scanner, calculator, jockey box, kegs. Computer Software:
