EXPERIENCE

2+ years in a cidery, brewery, winery or other beverage production role.

 

POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES                                                            

·     Always MODEL amazing customer service and company values

·   Perform all the duties and more under the direction of the head cidermaker and following established SOPs. Follows a weekly production plan and consults with the head cidermaker regularly. Takes an accountable role performing any of the following duties depending on the weekly production needs:

Cidermaking

•       Prepare new fermentations and receive juice deliveries

•       Prepare yeast pitches, maintaining high level of control, cleanliness and quality

•       Monitor and control fermentations

•       Operate pumps for fermentation prep, filtering, and blending

•       Operate cross-flow filter, backflush and clean and maintain sanitary storage

•       Clean (CIP) tanks and tank fittings, maintain high sanitation standards at all times

•       Prepare flavor teas per recipes using kettles and gas burners, measure and prepare ingredients for steeping and blending

•       Blend and carbonate finished ciders as last step before packaging, following given recipes

•       Organize and maintain quality of juices and other ingredients


Packaging

•       Perform basic level non-technical maintenance of pumps, filter, tanks, hoses, etc.

•       Identify and report quality concerns

•       Operate the canning line, monitor quality and mechanical performance

•       Clean and fill kegs

•       Follow all can line startup and teardown SOPs daily, complete daily logs

•       Perform QC checks on double seams, can fill, and various lab tests daily

•       Thoroughly clean and sanitize equipment daily, and maintain clean and organized work station

•       Follows safety rules and procedures without fail

·       Occasionally support shipping and receiving by preparing and palletizing keg and can orders

·       Maintain a clean facility, clean floors and equipment

·       Works well in a small team environment and under supervision

·       Responsible attitude around alcohol

·       Uncompromising attitude towards quality standards

·      Physically able to stand all day, lift 60 lbs to the waist comfortably, and work in a variety of environments (hot, cold, indoor/out)

·       Basic mechanical and tool knowledge
