Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Community Events Manager to oversee our Animals & Ales contest across the United States and support other fundraising projects, campaigns, and initiatives. This role involves managing the contest, fostering brewery partnerships, and coordinating other events as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Animals & Ales Contest Management:
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of the Animals & Ales US photo contest.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with breweries across the United States.
  • Coordinate with participating breweries to produce special beer labels featuring winning photos.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to charitable contests.
  • Work with the Communications and Media Relations Manager to coordinate the marketing and promotion of the contest through social media, press releases, and other channels.
  • Collaborate with the GoGo Photo platform to ensure the seamless operation and activation of contests.
  • Manage and update our CRM with all participant and donor information, and ensure timely distribution of tax receipts.
  • Liaise with contest winners for prizing
  • Write and deploy Animals & Ales US emails to promote the contest, thank participants, and engage contest entrants and donors.
  • Create and print promotional materials for contest

o  Assists with research, including vendor selection and contract negotiation. Keeps track of all expenses, and prepares reports on costs, using existing procedures to solve moderately complex problems as they arise.

  • Manage reporting and analysis of campaign and marketing content utilizing data to adjust future outreach and materials

  1. Fundraising Initiatives:
  • Support other fundraising initiatives as they arise, ensuring effective planning and execution.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize fundraising potential and engagement.

o  Ensure data is used to drive prospecting, cultivation, and solicitation processes.

  1. Event Coordination:
  • Plan and coordinate additional events following the Animals & Ales contest.
  • Establish event flows and basic scripting to support the goals of events.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including sponsors, volunteers, and team members, to ensure successful event execution.
  • Produce post-event reporting, evaluations, and learnings.
  1. Communication and Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the marketing team to create engaging content and promotional materials.
  • Liaise with breweries, sponsors, and other partners to maintain positive relationships and ensure mutual benefits.
  • Assist with reporting and analysis of marketing and media campaigns and initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates to the Executive Director and other relevant parties on the progress and outcomes of events.

  1. Flexibility and Creativity:
  • Adapt strategies in response to changing trends in the craft beer industry and fundraising landscapes.
  • Develop unique and innovative ideas to promote events and engage participants.
  • Participate in storytelling efforts by collecting testimonials from staff, partners, and the people we serve, and help gather content for newsletters, emails, and digital platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of the craft brewery scene in the United States.
  • Experience in event planning and management, particularly fundraising events.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in social media marketing and content creation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for animals and the mission of Veterinarians Without Borders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Graphic design skills to create promotional materials in Canva.
  • Experience in negotiating and securing partnerships.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to charitable contests.
