KCBC CANNING LINE OPERATOR /PACKAGING ASSISTANT

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your primary focus will be to assist with packaging 16 oz. and 12 oz. cans on our Wild Goose WGC - 250 canning line, keg draft beer and assist with other brewery activities, including but not limited to:


-Assisting with canning and kegging of beer 

-Preparing supplies (pak techs, case trays, etc.)

-Preparing work area, as needed (moving pallets, organizing supplies, etc.)

-Proper staging pack out area (tables, scale, pallets, etc.)

-Working efficiently and safely to ensure beer is packaged and stored properly

-Cleaning & filling kegs as needed

  • Cleaning and maintenance of canning line
  • Monitor carbonation levels and fermentation of beer
  • Monitor DO levels of beer using Anton Paar Cbox
  • Inventory and storage of canning supplies
  • Warehouse organization and inventory
  • General brewery cleaning, organization and maintenance, including: 

-Trash & recycling

-Walk-in cooler

-Brewery production area, as needed

  • Other miscellaneous duties, as needed


REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1+ years experience in a similar role in a packaging brewery is helpful but not required.
  • Mechanical knowledge / aptitude is required
  • Ability to strictly follow standard operating procedures?
  • Must be able to work in a non-temperature controlled environment, properly handle hazardous materials, and operate complex machinery.?
  • Must possess high quality standards and be able to work effectively and efficiently without direct supervision?
  • Must be HIGHLY focused on cleanliness and proper sanitation?
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. The job may also require occasional travel to and participation in trade shows and beer related events?
  • Must be meticulously organized and punctual, with outstanding multi-tasking and time management skills?
  • Must be able to bend over, twist, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, stand for the duration of a shift, lift 55+ pounds repeatedly and move up to 165 pounds, safely handle hot and cold liquids, safely handle cleaning/sanitizing chemicals, and safely handle oak barrels. ?This is a labor-intensive, highly-physical position
  • Must have basic computer skills and aptitude, specifically working with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps. Experience with Slack and Ekos Brewery Management software is a plus.?
  • Ability to operate a forklift (training available if not experienced)
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and have proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.?
  • Must be awesomely passionate about craft beer!

 

BENEFITS

This is a full-time hourly position and will occasionally require weekend, late-night, and holiday work.

  • 80 hours paid time off (hours accrued weekly and can be used after 60 day probationary period (max 80 hours / yr)
  • 40 hours sick leave (max 40 hours / yr)
