Skinny Flowers Brewing Company LLC is a new craft brewery currently under construction in Fort Monmouth, Monmouth County, NJ. We are seeking to complete our senior management team with the hiring of our Head of Sales, Customer Relationships & Hospitality. About us:

Skinny Flowers Brewing Company is a 3 vessel, 15bbl brewery. We have recently hired a highly talented and highly experienced Head Brewer who has recently relocated from New England to New Jersey to join us as Head Brewer and a member of our senior management team and partner in Skinny Flowers Brewing.

Skinny Flowers Brewing Company is founded by Jim and Liz King, two long time senior and executive management professionals for large multinational corporations as well as high performing athletes. Over the last few years Jim and Liz have been nurturing their passion for craft beer and craft breweries into their vision for Skinny Flowers. Our first brewery is now under construction and our goal is that our Head of Sales, Customer Relationships & Hospitality be a key part of the vision for Skinny Flowers and to have the opportunity to be part of our roots.

Role overview:

As our Head of Sales, Customer Relationships & Hospitality you will help develop, execute and manage our internal and external sales strategies and customer relationships. You will work as part of the senior management team in developing strategy and executing strategy. 

  • Your territory will start with Monmouth County and surrounding counties and will grow with time, as will the team. 
  • You will have a proven track record, you excel at being proactive, working autonomously and collaborating with others. 


Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute sales and customer strategy for Skinny Flowers Brewing Company.
  • Set and deliver the highest standard of customer service to all internal and external customers. 
  • Continuously grow existing and new customers to expand our customer driven business.
  • Have a firm understanding of customers, their needs and their requirements.
  • Proactively communicate market conditions and feedback to the Skinny Flowers team.
  • Have a great sense of ownership and willingness to work hard and collaborate with others.
  • Maintain detailed data and to regularly review metrics to inform strategy, planning and decision making. 
  • Accurately maintain customer and business records.
  • Collaborate closely with Head Brewer regarding production scheduling, customer needs, customer preferences and requirements, etc. 
  • Help develop ideas for events and ways to further engage our customers.
  • Represent Skinny Flowers Brewing Company at on-site and off-site events.
  • Love the idea of growing and building something amazing and beloved by the community.
  • Be a resource to customers and the community. 
  • The person in this role will have significant input in shaping how the position evolves over time.
  • As we grow, you will be a mentor and coach to the team, training new hires and continuing the development of the team over time. 
  • This role carries incredible responsibility and opportunity for the right person as you will be a key person who helps build and maintain our image to our internal and external customers. 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in alcohol sales 
  • Hardworking, reliable, dependable, trustworthy, transparent and relationship driven.
  • A knowledge of and passion for craft beer and a desire to share this with others. 
  • Cicerone Certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or Google Calendars and Email as well as Quickbooks (or equivalents).
  • Data-oriented and comfortable using brewery production and sales software.
  • Exceptional customer service standards and proven track record of success in delivering above and beyond expectations.
  • History of experience in building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Ability to analyze a variety of data and report findings on trends and patterns.
  • Clear and effective communicator. 
  • Valid NJ Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and to bend, stoop, and safely lift 55 pounds and move up to 165 pounds.

This is a very important component for both the candidates and the owners. 


What you can expect from the Interview Process:

  • Introductory Video Meeting with Jim: 45 minutes to talk about you, to learn about Jim and Liz, to discuss the vision, your experience and desired next steps in your career. The goal is to ensure both parties are expecting the same out of the position.  
  • In person interview, individually with Jim, Liz and our Head Brewer.
  • We will then develop a short list of candidates and proceed further with the process.
