Brewer

Middle James Brewing Company opened in 2019 with a 15bbl brewhouse. We now distribute throughout the Charlotte area and just over the border in South Carolina. We are expanding further with a second taproom, more fermentation space, and a canning line. 

Job Title: Brewer

Responsibilities:

• Oversee cellar, assist with packaging, warehouse, research and development, and quality control
• Help with production planning and forecasting
• Maintain a high standard of facility cleanliness and organization
• Identify and address opportunities to increase operational efficiency
• Ensure standard operating procedures (SOP) are followed and improved upon
• Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

 Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• At least two years of experience in a cellarman/ assistant brewer role or formal education is preferred.
• High level of organization and attention to detail
• Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with production forecasting, scheduling, and management
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to lift at least 100 (lbs.) pounds, stand for long periods of time, able to bend, and work in a loud, hot, and quick paced environment.        
• Forklift certification or ability to become certified
