Bill Shufelt, Co-Founder and CEO, Athletic Brewing Company
Bill Shufelt
Co-Founder and CEO, Athletic Brewing Company
Bill Shufelt is the co-founder & CEO of Athletic Brewing, America’s leading non-alcoholic craft beer company. An outdoor enthusiast, ultra trail runner, and beer lover, Bill left a promising career at one of the world’s largest hedge funds to build the first U.S. brewery and taproom dedicated entirely to non-alcoholic beer. In 2012, Bill realized alcohol was an artificial ceiling on achieving all of his goals, so he left it behind for good. However, he still loved socializing with friends and family and pairing great brews with delicious meals. When Bill stopped drinking, he was shocked that nobody had taken the time to develop a line of full-flavored, non-alcoholic craft beers for the 60% of Americans who drink less than one time per week. So, Bill set out to change that by creating a company focused on crafting delicious adult non-alcoholic beverages that didn’t compromise on taste or quality. Since launching in 2018, Athletic Brewing has grown to become a Top-20 craft brewery and the second-largest non-alcoholic beer brand in the U.S. In 2022, Athletic was ranked as the 26th fastest-growing private company in America by Inc. Magazine and named one of TIME’s “100 Most Influential Companies.”

Jeff Heck, Co-Founder and CEO, Monday Night Brewing
Jeff Heck
Co-Founder and CEO, Monday Night Brewing
Jeff Heck co-founded Monday Night Brewing in Atlanta, GA in 2011 after he and his co-founders started homebrewing in Jeff’s garage. Monday Night has grown to a four-taproom operation with two additional taprooms opening in 2023, as well as distribution across the Southeast. In his role as CEO, Heck oversees all aspects of Monday Night’s operations and strategy, with the aim of fulfilling the company’s purpose of “deepening relationships over some of the best beer in the country.” A native of Cincinnati, OH, Heck graduated from Harvard University before moving to Atlanta. Prior to fully transitioning to Monday Night Brewing, he spent nearly 10 years as an investment professional at Roark Capital Group, which invests its more than $30 billion in capital in consumer and business services companies. He and his wife of 19 years have four children and live just a mile from the original brewery in Atlanta.

Adam Charnack, Co-Owner, Hi-Wire Brewing
Adam Charnack
Co-Owner, Hi-Wire Brewing
Adam has been visiting Asheville since he was nine years old. Encouraged by his childhood memories of Western NC, Adam moved to Asheville in 2012 to pursue his professional career at the time - developing affordable housing. But, after months of craft beer-filled evenings with his now-business partner brainstorming ways to scratch their collective entrepreneurial “itches”, the two former-college roommates decided to pursue their passion for craft beer in their adopted hometown. In business since 2012, the two pursued their craft-beer passion of producing approachable and balanced beers in the heart of Asheville NC, the little circus town Hi-Wire calls home. Hi-Wire’s lagers and ales can now be found in bars, restaurants, and grocery stores across nine states, including their ten taproom locations - three in Asheville, NC and one each in Durham, Wilmington and Charlotte, NC, Knoxville, TN, Louisville, KY, and Cincinnati, OH - with another taproom opening in Nashville in summer, 2023. Passionate about improving the everyday urban experience for himself and others, Adam studies land-use and urban design in his spare time. Adam has served as the Chairman of the Asheville Transit Committee and as a member of the French Broad River MPO, the AB Tech Foundation board, and various other committees. The Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce has awarded Adam Entrepreneur of the Year in 2022 and 2015, and Hi-Wire Brewing the Sky High Growth Award in 2019 as well a “Venture 15” fast-growing start-up in Asheville in 2021, 2019, and 2018.
