Crooked Hammock Brewery set to host Winter Warmer: Stout’s Honor on February 18 from 12 until 4 p.m.

Crooked Hammock Brewery is excited to announce the return of Winter Warmer: Stout’s Honor, a mini beer festival dedicated to tasty stouts. Sticking with the beery backyard utopia vibe, the event will be held outside on February 18 from 12 noon until 4 p.m. at our Middletown, DE brewpub. Tickets are $40 with designated driver tickets priced at $20; guests must be 21+ and food is included.

Owner Rich Garrahan has promised to showcase “hard to find, easy to enjoy” stouts from some of the best breweries this side of the Mississippi, including rare and exclusive pours from Delaware and beyond. Crooked Hammock has invited a sick list of insanely popular guest breweries to take over their taps: Autumn Arch Beer Project, Burley Oak Brewing Company, Big Oyster Brewing, Southern Grist, Dewey Beer Company, Burnish Beer, and First State Brewing.

Trying new stouts should melt anyone’s cold soul and warm the cockles of one’s heart this time of year. But, if that isn’t reason enough to come out, the veteran brewers behind the beers in the kegs will be crowding around the campfire and pouring their hearts out. Attendees are invited to ask them anything! Whatever the thermometer says, it’ll be a warm day for the beer community.

In addition, Diamond State Curling Club will be putting on a live curling exhibition for the masses. They are an all-volunteer, member-operated 501(c) (3) non-profit organization committed to introducing as many residents of Delaware and the surrounding area as possible to this fantastic sport. Diamond State runs a bevy of adult curling leagues — open to curlers of all skill levels — throughout the year and operates out of the Patriot Ice Center in Newark, DE. New to curling? Now, the obvious question: what’s pouring? Glad you asked! Crooked Hammock will be featuring three special stouts, on draft and in demand until they run out:

• S’mores Stout: Russian Imperial Stout, with graham crackers, marshmallow, chocolate (10% ABV)
• Lift Ticket: Golden Stout, with Little Goat Coffee, cacao nibs, vanilla (7.7% ABV)
