Join us at South Dock on February 14th for a special Valentine’s Day Beer & Indulgent Treat Pairing. We partnered with So Damn Gouda to put together 3 unique pairings that incorporate 4 indulgent treats including cheese, chocolate, and fruit or nuts.1st Pairing:
Sour Raspberry Mysters Hard Seltzer with…
Gjestost- “Norwegian Brown Cheese”, Fresh Pomegranate Seeds, Lemon Zest and White Chocolate
Gjestost- Goat’s milk cheese that has been heated and caramelized creating a sweetness.
White Chocolate- Iviore 35% Cacao white chocolate from France
Tasting Notes- Think freshness and decadence. Almost like fresh berries and cream. You get a nice sweetness from cheese, acidity from the pomegranate and freshness from the lemon Zest and the white chocolate brings a decadence to the pairing while highlighting the raspberry in the seltzer.
2nd Pairing:
Hazy IPA with…
Prairie Breeze Cheddar, Valencia Almonds and Helliemae’s Apple Cider Caramel
Prairie Breeze- Made in Milton, Iowa. 12 month aged Sharp Cheddar with a clean and almost sweet finish for a cheddar.
Helliemae’s Apple Cider Caramel- Soft and buttery caramel made from real apple cider reduction. Locally made in Wheat Ridge, CO.
Tasting Notes- A harmonious balance of flavor intensity. The citrus forward hops in the beer create an initial bitterness and acidity complimented by the apple and sweetness in the caramel. The cheese brings the clean and salty element to the pairing and the nuts provide the heartiness to tie it all together and complete the entire taste experience.
3rd Pairing:
Chocolate Peanut Butter Imperial Stout with…
Grand Noir Blue Cheese, Chocolove 70% Dark Chocolate
Grand Noir Blue Cheese-From Germany, a very creamy blue cheese that is approachable and has a smooth and creamy texture without being overpowering.
Chocolove 70%- Colorado made, responsibly sourced dark chocolate with hints of vanilla.
Tasting Notes- This is the dessert that will make you want to keep coming back. Between the sweetness, booziness and hint of peanut from the beer paired with the salty creaminess of the cheese and the bitterness of the chocolate this pairing is big and will make you wanting more
