12/20/2020 -- Deck the Highballs: Cocktails, Food Drive, and Collaboration Beer Release at Catawba Charlotte

Catawba Charlotte serves up Hot Dickel Cider and Sweet Potato Pie Porter at local food drive.

Catawba Charlotte is hosting a special holiday-themed event, food drive, and beer release on Sunday, December 20th, 12-8pm. Guests will decorate Christmas ornaments while sipping Hot Dickel Cider served up by a rep from George Dickel Tennessee Whisky. All ornament craft supplies are provided, and there is no cost to attend.

Deck the Highballs coincides with a food drive that’s occurring across all Catawba locations, billed as Show Us Your Cans. Guests at Catawba Charlotte are encouraged to bring canned food to donate to Purpose CLT in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank.

Catawba will release a new holiday-seasonal Small Batch beer brewed for the event. Auntie’s House Sweet Potato Pie Porter is a collaboration between Catawba and Bruce’s Yams – available on draft and in exclusive 4-packs cans. Layered with rich chocolate and caramel malts, this silky smooth Milk Porter is jam-packed with Carolina-grown sweet potatoes, chopped pecans, vanilla, and cinnamon. The beer showcases flavor notes of dark chocolate, marshmallows, brown sugar, candied nuts, and Southern holiday comfort food.

Wear an ugly Christmas sweater for a chance to win prizes. To enter, guests must pose for a photo in front of the “Yamas Tree,” post on Instagram, and tag @catawbabrewing_clt and @brucesyams.

Participants at the event will be physically distanced in accordance with CDC guidelines, while interacting in a fun, creative, social environment – with indoor and outdoor seating available. Catawba welcomes drop-ins anytime during the event.
