Schlafly Beer's 16th annual Art Outside Festival, the celebration of local art, music and beer.

Schlafly Beer will host the 16th annual Art Outside Festival, the celebration of local art, music and beer, at Schlafly Bottleworks (7260 Southwest Ave, St. Louis, MO 63143) over Memorial Day weekend on Friday, May 24 through Sunday, May 26. The festival showcases 67 artists who all reside and work within a 125-mile radius of the brewery. Guests can shop the local artists with a Schlafly beer in hand as well as enjoy a special menu of festival fare available for purchase. This year’s festival will also offer a new activity to create art with your dog. “Puppy Pawtraits” will be available to highlight the brewery’s latest can release of Uncaged Ale, in partnership with The Watering Bowl to support the APA (Animal Protective Association) of Missouri.

“Art Outside is all about community, whether that’s promoting our local art scene with quality and affordable pieces, showcasing our craft beer, or partnering with local organizations like the Watering Bowl to help the APA rescue our four-legged friends,” says Founding Brewer Stephen Hale. “The festival aims to raise awareness and appreciation of talented artists and musicians who share their craft in our very own community. That’s one of the many reasons nearly 20,000 of our neighbors visit Art Outside every year.”

The 67 local artists are selected by a jury of art professionals. See the full list of artists here, and shop pottery from YellowTree Clay, felt houseplants from The Happy Houseplant and customized banners from Golden Gems, and more. To commemorate the art festival and the brewery’s new Uncaged Ale, “Puppy Pawtraits” will be available for pups to get in on all the art fun.

Dogs can dip their paws in non-toxic, washable & APA-approved paint to walk on a poster for a keepsake for their owners for $5. There will also be water troughs, towels and wipes for easy cleanup, and 100% of profits will go directly back to the APA. Uncaged Ale is an American pale ale and a portion of proceeds from every beer sold will benefit the APA to help rescue dogs (and cats) across Missouri find forever homes here in St. Louis. On Sunday, May 27, the brewery will have the APA and The Watering Bowl on site with puppies to cuddle and information about the organizations.

In addition to the art, there will be three bars on the festival grounds with styles such as: Schlafly Raspberry Hefeweizen, White Lager, IPA, Pale Ale and more. The culinary team will also offer special festival fare for purchase. Past items have included off-menu dishes like: Chicken & Veggie Shawarma Skewers, Sticky Toffee Pudding Milkshakes and Chorizo Nachos.

The 16th annual Art Outside Festival will take place on Friday, May 24, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, May 25, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, May 26, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Schlafly Beer’s Bottleworks location.
