Axholme Brewing Company are hosting a beer festival in Cleethorpes!
Axholme Brewing Company join forces with the Beachcomber fornew and improved September beer festival in Cleethorpes.
The ever- popular Beachcomber has hosted some of the best events in Cleethorpes over the years and has now teamed up with a
fast- growing Lincolnshire brewery to put on an unmissable event for fans of real ale, craft beers and ciders. The event will be held
on Saturday 01st September 2018 and is already expected to sell out with tickets at just £5. As well as a full range of Axholme
Brewing Company beers, the Beachcomber will be putting on live music, indoor and outdoor bars, stalls and carnival style street
food.
With experience of hosting beer festivals ran by independent companies in the past, the Beachcomber has decided that this festival
won’t just be bigger and better but that it will also be organised ‘in house’. Assistant Manager Simon Tasker, can see many benefits
to the paying punters.
“This year we want the event to be on a totally different scale. We’re so happy to have teamed up with the guys at Axholme
Brewing Company on this. They are arguably this area’s most popular brewery and will be bringing their own pop-up bars along
with a range of their best cask beers. We’re also talking with other local breweries and cider makers to help us create an exciting
line up of locally produced brews. There’s going to be over 100 different beers and ciders to choose from - ranging from stuff from
smaller, local independent breweries to international offerings, pale ales through to porters and stouts, low strength session beers
to some strong speciality brews. We want to offer something for every pallet and it’s been great fun choosing the line up! There’s
definitely going to be some unusual beers and ciders people won’t have tried before.”
Geoff Kernon, Manager at The Beachcomber, added, “We really cannot wait for this event. Axholme has been our best- selling
bottled beer since we launched it here in the Autumn of 2017 and they are always coming up with something new and exciting. The
team’s enthusiasm is infectious and when our new concept bar and restaurant launches in Spring 2018 their beer will be taking
pride of place on the bar - it will be on cask permanently as it is so popular. We love working with local companies and want this
event to grow year on year so that it becomes an unmissable summer event in the Cleethorpes calendar.”
Axholme Brewing Company will be bringing their own bar and racking with 6 cask beers. Expected to be one of the most popular
beers is their famous Cleethorpes Pale Ale which has proved to be a hit all over the country. The team will also be keen to
showcase some of their more unusual, seasonal guest beers as well as introducing an exciting new chapter for the flourishing
business.
Indeed, 2018 looks set to be a huge year for the brewery as the team start work on their new premises in Grimsby. The new site at
King Edward Street is expected to be up and running in time for the September beer festival.
“The new Grimsby brewery will be attending with its own bar and its own range of beers - in addition to the Axholme line up” says
Shahram Shadan, Director of Axholme, “I can’t say too much at this stage, but watch this space for some exciting developments.
We have some very ambitious plans for the year and a few surprises up our sleeve. The new brew plant will allow us to be much
more experimental with the types of beers we can make, and we can’t wait to get started. The UK beer scene has never been so
exciting, and we want to bring cutting edge craft beers to our home town of Grimsby. This beer festival is the perfect opportunity for
us to show everyone what we have been up to and give a glimpse of what we have planned for the future. It’s sure to be a great
event – the planning is going really well and to have over 100 beers is a strong line up for a beer festival like this. For us that’s what
it’s all about, celebrating all the great brewers out there and if you throw in some live music and some delicious street food then
what’s not to like?!”
