Raising Awareness for Teen Safety

San Pedro, CA (May 8, 2017) – A fundraiser for San Pedro teen Evan Jimenez will take place on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Brouwerij West (110 E. 22nd St., Warehouse No. 9, San Pedro, CA 90731) from 12:00pm to closing. On March 30, 2017, Evan was walking home from winning a baseball game in his hometown of San Pedro when he was approached by two men. In what appears to be a gang-style initiation ritual, Evan was severely beaten. He suffered multiple fractures and brain hemorrhaging and faces the possible loss of speech and mobility skills. Hospitalized for most of April, Evan is currently undergoing physical therapy and learning to walk again. Please join Brouwerij West and supporters of Evan on Sunday May 21st to raise money to assist his family with his ongoing care. There will be a suggested $10 donation at the door; no gift is too small. There will also be a raffle featuring prizes including packages from Crafted at the Port of Los Angeles and other local businesses, along with food trucks and music from local San Pedro bands. One hundred percent of the door and raffle proceeds will be donated to Evan Jimenez and his care. Brouwerij West owners Brian Mercer, who was born and raised in San Pedro, and Dave Holop are donating the space for the fundraiser and a $1.00 from every Popfuji pilsner, our most popular beer, sold on the day to assist in raising money for Evan and his family, which consists of his single mother and sister.
