Maintenance Technician


We are looking for an associate to maintain and ensure the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment within our brewery.  This individual will be involved with regularly scheduled preventive maintenance as well as the repairs of electrical and manual equipment. You must be able to work with outside parties (such as manufacturer’s help desks and independent contractors) on certain projects but also be able to work independently to maintain and repair equipment.  Being able to follow operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and understanding engineering specifications is key.

 

Functions and Responsibilities


You will:

  • Maintain and repair production systems - including all pumps, heat exchangers, chillers, boilers, air compressors, conveyors, packaging and process systems, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining and repairing other areas of the facility, from tasting room equipment (e.g. tap lines) to warehouse equipment (e.g. help to trouble-shoot HVAC or Forklift issues).
  • Work with contractors and outside service personnel as required.
  • Ensure that all work meets prescribed standards of quality and is compliant with all laws, safety procedures, policies and codes.
  • Regularly inspect equipment to identify any unusual conditions, defective materials, or faulty operating components.
  • Report unusual conditions to appropriate people. 
  • Align, adjust and calibrate machines according to specifications.
  • Maintain records of repairs, calibrations and tests.
  • Monitor and keep properly stocked tools and parts
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment, as necessary.
  • Perform duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform duties at times that generally do not interfere with the production schedule. This will require you to have a flexible schedule at appropriate times.  
  • Provide assistance in other areas as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the facility.

 

 

Experience:


3+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred, with experience troubleshooting electrical and PLC based control systems; experience maintaining packaging equipment, conveyor systems and process systems; and ability to read and follow complicated drawings, specifications, and handbooks. 

 

Skills/ Attributes:


The ideal candidate will be proactive and hard-working, good at problem solving, and have good attention to details.

  

They also will stay calm under pressure, know their limitations, and know when to get others involved.


The job requires a flexible schedule (as some issues will need to be resolved at unusual times), and can be physically demanding.

 

Education/Certifications(s): 

High school diploma or GED required; Associates or higher degree in an industry related science preferred.
