PHOENIXVILLE, PA - The nonprofit Brewing Diversity n Inclusion Festival (BDIF) presented by Bitches n Brews is a country-wide diversity and inclusion advocate in the craft brew community coming from Salt Lake City UT that focuses on brewing of all kinds, from craft beer, wine, mead and coffee to other home ferments, brewed soaps and more, is launching a diversity and inclusion initiative within their own and other local communities. The first “BDIF” for 2024 will be held at St Michael's Park in Mont Clare, Phoenixville PA on September 15, 2024 and will be traveling to subsequent locations across the US, listed on the website festival page, making the movement and lasting connections accessible for more of Everyone, Everywhere.
The festival's founder, Mikenzie Tavenner Hardman, wants the public to understand this isn't just about craft beer, however. While including creative activities (like brewing beers infused with your favorite food flavors & sustainable living DIY), there’s another deeper, more important component to this: Lasting connections through enjoyment with others that benefits us all in measurable ways, like Economic Impact, Broader Markets, and Social Change. Tavenner-Hardman intends for this to grow for years to come.
Already, she’s running workshops around not just creating your own beers, but also learning important skills like using fermentation for food preservation and even creating household products like probiotic deodorant and natural cleansers, all while collaborating with other entrepreneurs, small businesses and teachers, like dog rescues (their female dogs- the Bitches- like furriends too!), DEI organizations and other craftsmen & women, in the areas where the festivals and workshops are held.
Once the festivals are in full swing this Fall, Tavenner Hardman also expects to launch her own highlight on “the real-life, behind-the-scenes of how BNB is creating and connecting all over the country as we journey through the DEI space alongside the brew community, creating things never before seen in either space.” She and her partner, Jeff Hardman, exemplify this by hosting their 5 Minute Podcast shining a spotlight on their vendors, entertainment & other participants in their events to give a chance to hear their voice and meet them before coming to the event, for instant connections that feel like old friends. With this, she expects to drive more people to the local and virtual workshops and invite more individuals to get involved with them and all they’re offering, easily accessible through their online resources.
Overall? Her goal is to create something entirely new, different, and inclusive… white guys are still welcome, too, she adds. She just wants more of everyone else to join her, to feel safe, experience new skills with lasting connections, and come have fun with the BNB community. “That’s why,” she says, “we curated our events with a little something there for everyone. Diversity in people starts with giving people something they like, so they feel welcomed and invited to enjoy what they already know and love, something just for them, while trying new things with new people!”
Tavenner-Hardman is welcoming questions about her initiative and charitable mission via their website and social media, or you can call her at: 385.33BITCH, that’s 385.332.4824
