STEVENS POINT, Wis.-- Stevens Point Brewery will celebrate the opening of its new Hospitality Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 1.
The event marks the completion of a $1.1 million project by The Boldt Company, which broke ground in October. The remodeled space in the historic 1936 building adjacent to brewery’s outdoor beer garden includes a new tap room and gift shop. A new addition to the building features a sampling room, used as a tasting area for tour guests.
Wednesday’s event will include remarks from Joe Martino, operating partner at Stevens Point Brewery; Ryan Wanta, designer at Wanta and Son, Inc.; Matt Paulus, Boldt area manager; and Melissa Wysocki, Stevens Point Brewery tap room manager. After the ribbon cutting, guests will be invited to tour the tap room.
“Stevens Point Brewery and the Boldt Company share a rich history in Central Wisconsin. Together, we are growing through a commitment to innovation and community,” Paulus said. “Boldt is proud to continue the partnership with Stevens Point Brewery for the tap room expansion. The project provides a welcoming year-round opportunity to explore the brewery and its products for residents and visitors, alike. We are excited for what this project means to the brewery and its future.”
The project included the preservation of historic elements of the nearly century-old building. Several materials were repurposed, including glass from the original windows and vintage signage on display in the new community space.
“The Stevens Point Brewery tap room is a logical extension of our business and legacy,” said owner Joe Martino. “Inside the historic walls of this brewery, we have had hospitality rooms and tasting areas before. They eventually needed to make way for additional tanks and expanded brewing operations. Now, we have a permanent home for our local friends and travelers alike to stop, sample our products, and experience the quality and charm that makes our beers—and all of Stevens Point—so unique. This is truly a new era for the brewery.”
