Point-of-sale (POS) system provider Arryved has acquired Craftpeak, which offers website development and e-commerce capabilities for craft beverage producers.
“Craftpeak and Arryved have had a deep relationship for years, and we’ve been continuously impressed by their customer-centricity and product vision,” Arryved CEO Loren Bendele said in a press release. “By joining forces, we’re taking the final step in helping our customers truly bridge the gap between their on-premise and online presences.”
The acquisition, announced Thursday, advances the partnership the companies launched last year that integrates Arryved’s POS software with Craftpeak’s e-commerce platforms to provide real-time inventory accounting for on-premise and online sales. Furthermore, the deal is “a significant step toward Arryved’s goal to provide the industry with its first seamless omni-channel hospitality platform,” according to the release.
Asheville, North Carolina-based Craftpeak was founded in 2016 by CEO John Kelley, chief creative officer Corey Bullman and chief technical officer Julien Melissas. In addition to Craftpeak’s website creation service, the firm also offers technology that allows breweries to include retail account location finders, e-commerce platforms that facilitate on-site and delivery sales, and membership clubs.
“We have been huge fans of Arryved’s people, technology, and the core values with which they lead their business and the industry; and we are thrilled for the opportunity to combine our web design and e-commerce experience with their formidable engineering talent,” Kelley said in the release.
Craftpeak has more than 200 clients, including Against the Grain, Anxo Cider, Burial Beer, Evil Twin, Fair State Brewing Cooperative, Hardywood Park, Jackie O’s, Other Half and Oxbow, as well as some U.K. breweries.
Boulder, Colorado-headquartered Arryved serves 1,500 on- and own-premise clients in the U.S. The company processes more than $80 million in transactions each month.
The acquisition of Craftpeak will help Arryved expand its offerings so that it can provide a broader digital toolkit to support “a seamless customer experience,” Bendele said.
“With the acquisition of Craftpeak, we’re providing our customers with sophisticated tools that have previously been inaccessible to independent hospitality owners,” he said. “And, by helping our customers build a consistent brand across all channels, we’re giving them the opportunity to deepen their relationships in their communities and compete in the changing hospitality marketplace.”
Craftpeak’s financial advisor on the deal was Oaklyn Consulting, and Ward and Smith, P.A., was the company’s legal advisor. Arryved’s legal advisor was Koenig, Oelsner, Taylor, Schoenfeld & Gaddis PC.
