Job Summary:
The Packaging Operator is responsible for all facets of packaging operations, including keg cleaning, filling, can line operations, labeling and date coding, CIP, and quality assurance. Strong consideration will be given to candidates with previous canning experience. Also open to training a new team member just getting into the industry.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities dependent on experience level at hire
- Keg cleaning and filling
- Packing off and palletizing several thousand cases in a day
- Can line operation: Depal, Filler, Dryer, Filtec, Date coder, Packtech, Cartoner, Tray Packer, Pasteurizer, labeler
- Cleaning and sanitizing of packaging equipment and brewery facilities including routine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Handle dangerous chemicals according to safe practice, SDS, and IABC SOP’s
- Changeovers of equipment and staging
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- Measuring Gravity, pH, O2, CO2 and N2. ATP and Gluten testing. Timely and accurate record keeping
- Setting and maintaining proper head pressures
- Proper organization, labeling, storage, and transportation of goods, and raw materials with attention to detail in batch rotation and FIFO
- Recycling collection, organization, and packing for pickup
- Adherence to safety rules, cGMP, Master Sanitation Schedule, and all relevant rules and regulations as outlined by IABC SOP’s and policies.
