Sweetwater Brewing Company today announced plans to expand distribution into a number of new markets.
Beginning this month, the Atlanta-based craft brewery will enter five new markets in Tennessee, six additional counties in Ohio and two new regions of Virginia. Sweetwater will also broaden its reach in New Jersey next month when it adds distribution on the Jersey Shore via Shore Point Distributing Company.
The brewery already has a presence in all four states.
The company has signed an agreement with Ajax Distributing in Tennessee for coverage throughout Benton, Carroll, Henry, Obion and Weakley counties.
In Northwest Ohio, meanwhile, Sweetwater has inked a deal with NWO Beverage for distribution in Allen, Hardin, Putnam, Van Wert, Ottawa and Sandusky counties.
Sweetwater has also tapped P.A. Short Distributing in Virginia for coverage in the Roanoke and New River Valley regions of the state.
“We at P.A. Short are tremendously excited about the addition of Sweetwater to our growing portfolio,” Aden Short, the price president of P.A. Short Distributing said via a press release. “With their high quality and delicious beers, Sweetwater continues to prove why they are one of the fastest growing breweries in the industry today.”
The company will ship its 420 Extra Pale Ale, IPA, Blue, seasonal and various limited release offerings into each of the new markets.
Sweetwater products are currently sold in 18 states as well as Washington D.C. Though no official wholesaler agreements have been signed, the company is considering entries into a number of potential new markets during the later part of 2016, a spokesperson told Brewbound.
Currently ranked as the 15th largest U.S. craft brewery by the Brewers Association, the brewery grew production by 14 percent, to 218,000 barrels, in 2015.
