Marietta, GA – In four short years, Red Hare Brewing Company has gone from the kitchen stove to a newly expanded 17,000 square foot brewery in Marietta, GA. At their current production, Red Hare has become the third largest craft brewery in Georgia and in the top seven percent of the 4,000+ craft breweries in the United States today, according to the Brewers Association. With their new expansion, they see this as just the beginning.
Since their expansion began in February 2015, Red Hare has doubled the size of their brew house and increased their fermentation capacity by nearly 40%. These upgrades allow the brewery to increase their capacity from 10,000 barrels per year to roughly 15,000 barrels (the equivalent of 822,000 six packs of beer) and provide a footprint for a future capacity of up to 50,000 barrels. The expansion also added a brand new centrifuge (becoming one of only three breweries in Georgia to own this piece of machinery) and enlarged their testing lab to allow Red Hare to maintain the quality and consistency of their products at this amplified scale.
To keep up with their increased production, Red Hare upgraded their canning line 2000%, going from thirty cans per minute to a staggering 600! Additionally, Red Hare added dry storage capable of housing in excess of half a million cans in anticipation of their ever expanding lineup.
In light of the tremendous success of Red Hare’s non-alcoholic root beer, previously only available on draught, the craft soda will be available in six packs starting January 23rd 2016, an added benefit of the new canning line.
“Even beer drinkers sometimes just want a nice cold root beer! We’re proud to have an offering for our kids, non-drinkers and designated drivers. We want Red Hare to be a place where everyone feels at home,” says owner Roger Davis, “we take as much care with our craft root beer recipe as we do with our craft beers and people appreciate that.” Red Hare Root Beer is brewed with natural pure cane sugar and is caffeine-free.
Red Hare topped off the expansion with the completion of their 2,000 square foot tasting room, which expands into an outdoor patio beer garden. This newly renovated tasting room is a modern yet rustic space perfect for private parties, conferences, or corporate events.
