With Oskar Blues Brewery’s second brewing facility in Brevard, N.C. running full steam ahead, the company said it plans to expand into a “handful of new states” next year.
Oskar Blues will jumpstart the process by entering Indiana in November with three wholesalers: World Class Beer-Monarch Beverage in central and south Indiana, and Indiana Beverage and Five Star Distributing in the northern region of the state.
“Part of the reason we are going to Indiana is because it builds on the success we’ve had in Ohio, Michigan and Chicago,” said Chad Melis, the company’s marketing director. “We are focusing on the Midwest and that will continue into 2014 as well.”
The company’s flagship, Dale’s Pale Ale, as well as Mama’s Little Yella Pils, Old Chub Scotch Ale, Deviant Dale’s IPA, G’Knight Imperial Red and Ten FIDY Imperial Stout will begin cropping up on retailer shelves next week.
Oskar Blues beers are currently sold in 30 states and its top five markets include Colorado, California, North Carolina, Texas and New York. Sales of Dale’s Pale Ale are up 41.5 percent across all markets year-to-date.
