Deschutes Brewery has signed agreements with three new beer wholesalers in Michigan, the company announced today.

The brewery, based in Bend, Ore., has inked deals with Alliance Beverage in Western Michigan, Fabiano Brothers in Central Michigan, and Daniel L Jacob & Co. for coverage in “Ann Arbor South.”

“We knew it would take us awhile to fill in Michigan, but it was always about making the right decisions instead of quick ones,” Stacy Denbow, the company’s business development director said in a statement. “I’m confident in our new partnerships and we’re excited to expand our presence in the state.”

Deschutes products had previously been available in the Grand Rapids, Lansing, Kalamazoo and Detroit areas. Beer is scheduled to arrive in the newly assigned territories in September, the company said.

Deschutes will initially sell its Mirror Pond Pale Ale, Black Butte Porter, Inversion IPA and winter seasonal, Jubleale, in the new markets.

The company broadened its reach in Detroit and areas of Pennsylvania earlier this year but said it doesn’t have plans to launch any new markets throughout the remainder of 2015.

An internal 2016 “strategic planning session” is also slated for the end of this month and additional market expansions, as well as the company’s plans for an East Coast brewing facility, will be discussed, Jason Randles, Deschutes’ marketing manager told Brewbound.

In recent weeks, Deschutes had been teasing new designs for its year-round, seasonal and Bond Street Series packages on Instagram. Those packages are just beginning to hit the marketplace.

“It had been several years since we had done anything,” Randles said. “The new packaging – everything from the bottle cap to the mother carrier — is just coming off the line and working its way out into the market now.”

The company will also follow-up the launch of its redesigned packages with a new website, Randles said.
