Carpinteria, CA — Island Brewing Company continues to explore the wondrous world of IPAs with its latest release in its Variance Series: Dublin Calling. This is a beer brewed with a classic Irish Red grain bill, but hopped up to West Coast regiments for 6.2% abv and 55 IBUs.
“Dublin Calling Red IPA marks one year brewing the Variance IPA and is the sixth style in our Series,” noted head brewer Ryan Morrill. “it’s a fun way to showcase the seemingly infinite spectrum of India Pale Ales. Dublin Calling is a beer spanning both sides of the world; on one hand there’s the traditional deep red color, and then there’s an atypical hop bill for what is usually found in an Irish Red Ale.” The combination results in a clean and smooth, easy drinking pint with enough hops for a balanced and flavorful beer.
Previously, the Variance IPA series has included an Avocado Honey IPA, a White IPA, the Beach Day Session IPA, West Coast IPA, and a Belgian IPA.
Future Variances will include an India Pale Lager, the return of the Beach Day Session IPA, as well as the Avocado Honey IPA, timed for release to coincide with the Avocado Festival, held in Carpinteria October 2-4, 2015.
