Founders Brewing is broadening its footprint once again, today announcing plans to enter Delaware in early May.
The company has inked an agreement Standard Distributing Company, a MillerCoors wholesaler that also sells products from well-known craft breweries such as Allagash Brewing, Brooklyln Brewery, Lagunitas and Oskar Blues, among others.
“Standard Distributing Company is very excited to be selected as the exclusive Delaware wholesaler of Founders Brewing Co.,” Standard Distributing president Steve Tigani said via a press release.
With the move into Delaware, Founders products are now sold across the entire eastern seaboard.
“Outside of our Midwestern markets, the Eastern seaboard was one of the first places we reached out to with our brand,” co-founder and CEO Mike Stevens said via the release. “After years of fan inquiries, Delaware will be the final state of this great region added and we are excited to put an exclamation point on what has been one hell of a journey. Thank you Delaware and we will see you soon.”
The company’s year-round, seasonal and specialty offerings will be delivered to the state in April, with retail placements slated to occur in early May. A series of launch events are scheduled for the week of May 8, the company said.
The foray into Delaware, the 44th state where Founders’ beer will be sold, follows previous expansions into Alabama, Idaho, Kansas, Oregon and Washington this year. The company also plans to enter Montana in April.
According to IRI, Founders grew dollars sales 54 percent, to $53.8 million, in 2016. The company’s volume sales also increased 65 percent during the year. All Day IPA led the way, up more than 76 percent in grocery and convenience stores.
