Burlington, VT – Thursday April 28th marked the official opening of Foam Brewers located on Burlington’s scenic waterfront. Foam founders Todd Haire, Robert Grim, Sam Keane, Jon Farmer, and Dani Casey have been working towards this day since breaking ground on the project back in November of 2015 and are beyond excited to share the suds of their labor with the people of Burlington.
Serving Seasonal Small Batch Beer and Beyond:
Foam Brewers will serve artisanal small batch beers, all brewed on premise, in a state of the art 7bbl brewhouse from Bennett Forgeworks out of Colorado. Beers will rotate seasonally allowing the brewers to continuously experiment with new styles and techniques. Brewmaster Todd Haire says “In the summer you want to sit back and enjoy a crisp, hoppy pale ale or saison while enjoying the sunset on Lake Champlain. In the winter you want to warm your body inside and out with a double stout while sitting by the fire. We’re excited to make great beer in a great atmosphere.”
The initial line up of beers include; Saison de Foam the house beer, Easey Kesey an easy drinking wheat beer, Tranquil Pils a crisp pilsner, and The Froth a farmhouse saison. On the hop spectrum there will be Deep City pale ale, Lupi Fresh IPA, and Built to Spill a double IPA. All beers will be served on site exclusively both by the glass and in 750ml growlers to enjoy at home.
To pair with the beer, an array of world-class cheese and charcuterie slates will be served with house-made fermented vegetables, fresh bread, and other delicacies. Also on tap, locally made and rotating flavors of Kombucha from their friends at House of Fermentology (HOF) along with nitrogenated cold pressed coffee from Brio Coffeeworks. Foam plans to exclusively pour HOF sour beers later in the summer, stay tuned for more on the power of sour!
An Interesting and Engaging Atmosphere Outside and In:
Above and beyond offering customers an enlightened taste experience through their beers and food pairings, Foam will provide a well thought out, interesting environment with a laid back atmosphere which will further permit those to expand the depths of their palate. Located right on waterfront park the outside view and surroundings are truly breathtaking making it the perfect place to enjoy a delicious craft beer.
Russ Bennett and the crew at Northland Construction are the creative minds and hands behind the build out of the historic space. Russ Bennett elaborates on the inspiration for the space, “We have used sculptural language provided by local artist Chris Solbert whose form and work is evocative of Matisse. Shapes that are amorphous in some ways like foam itself, but hint at other anthropomorphic ideas.” The space features a one of the kind curved concrete bar with sand-casted foam like glass when under lit extends the art into the beer lovers hand. The curves in the bar and throughout the facility are aimed at creating a more engaging space for visitors by encouraging conversation. Russ continues “We have transformed the space at 112 Lake street into a place that people will want to be in to share stories, hopes and dreams just like the founders of Foam who are bringing their dreams to reality.”
