Cape Canaveral, FL – The Florida Beer Company, Florida’s leading craft brewer recently competed in the prestigious 2013 U.S. Open Beer Championship. Florida Beer Company is pleased to announce that its Florida Lager was awarded the Gold Medal in the very competitive, Premium Lager category and its Hurricane Reef Caribbean Pilsner took home the Silver Medal in the Bohemian Pilsener category.The U.S. Open Beer Championship announced the winners over the July 4th weekend. Over 2,500 beers were entered this year in 68 categories from breweries from around the world. Over 20 international breweries entered the competition.

Florida Lager, an American Style Amber Lager previously won a Silver Medal in the Premium Lager category in the 2011 U.S. Open Beer Championship. Florida Lager also won a Bronze Medal in the Amber Lager category at the 2011 Great American Beer Festival®.
